Biography

Why did you become a physician/provider? I grew up in a very small town in rural Iowa. We all depended on each other in our community. I wanted to become a physician because I saw it as a way to best use my strengths to benefit the community. Being a physician is my way to help keep our town and its people running at their best.

As a provider, what is your medical philosophy? As a physician, I try to treat every patient as I'd want to be treated or as I'd want my closest family members treated.

What type of care/clinical interests are you most passionate about? Although I think of each patient's concerns as the most important at the time, one thing I care very much about  is mental health, especially mental health of our teens in the community.

Why did you choose your specialty? I love family ,edicine because it has given me the opportunity to care for families and for individuals in this community for nearly two decades. Life is full of ups and downs and I feel privileged to have stood with patients while they have navigated difficult times both physically and mentally. It is such an honor to be trusted by patients and their families.

What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice? Its important for patients to know I view them as participants and us as a team. I appreciate openness and honesty during our time together and very much consider joint decision making in each patient's care plan.

Procedures: Joint injections, trigger point injections, IUD placement, skin lesion removal

Personal Interests: At this time of my life, I really enjoy spending time with my growing kids, as well as reading, hiking and spending time in nature.
