As a nationally recognized leader in heart care and the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center, St. Luke's is Cedar Rapids' Heart Hospital. We offer a full range of cardiovascular services, from prevention through treatment, performing more advanced heart procedures and treating more heart patients than any other hospital in Cedar Rapids.

When you have a medical emergency, every minute counts. Call 911 and tell first responders to take you to St. Luke's.  Our Emergency Room is open 24/7. We offer the most experienced hospital ER team in Cedar Rapids, who are specially trained to respond rapidly, appropriately and efficiently to any health care emergency.

Imaging
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

At St. Luke's, our imaging technologies include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT), interventional/vascular lab, mammography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and X-ray. These tools play a critical role in patient diagnosis. Medical imaging is also used extensively for post-treatment assessment.

St. Luke's medical imaging team is the only facility in the state of Iowa to achieve the American College of Radiology's Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) designation and provides patients with the highest levels of imaging quality, safety and care.

Once your appointment is made, you will receive a confirmation via text. Upon arrival, text the word "Arrived" to the phone number of your location, and when the lab is ready for you, you'll receive a text or phone call with screening questions and an invitation to come into the lab.

UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital has been named the No. 1 Hospital in Iowa on the Newsweek/Statista “America’s Best-in-State Hospital’s” list for 2025. This is the seventh time St. Luke’s has been named to Newsweek’s list since it started in 2019 and the first time in the top spot. The rankings were compiled using quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, a nationwide online survey among medical professionals, results from HCAHPS patient experience surveys and a voluntary PROMs (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures) implementation survey.
