Erica Axiotis Named President of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is pleased to announce Erica Axiotis as president of the UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation, effective January 15, 2024.

Axiotis has more than 17 years of combined experience in both fundraising and healthcare. She comes from ChildServe where she most recently served as the vice president of Development. In addition, Axiotis has worked at the Mercy Foundation and Mary Greeley Medical Center.

“I am honored to be serving as the next president of the UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation,” said Axiotis. “This organization, leadership and foundation team is committed to excellence in healthcare and caring for our community in countless ways. Axiotis is a graduate of Simpson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She received her Masters in Public Administration from Drake University with an emphasis in health care resource development. She is married to Christopher, an assistant vice president of Internal Audit and Risk Management at Wellabe. They have two children: Mary who is 9 years old and in 4th grade and Nicholas who is 5 years old and in kindergarten. Axiotis is a 1996 graduate of Mason City High School.
