UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital is the number one hospital in Iowa according to the Newsweek/Statista “America’s Best in State Hospital’s” list for 2025. This is the seventh time St. Luke’s has been named to Newsweek’s Best Hospital’s list since it started in 2019 and the first time in state’s the top spot.

“I am extremely proud of this honor,” said Casey Greene, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital President. “This national recognition is a direct reflection on our dedicated team for their commitment to providing safe, quality care to our community.”

According to Newsweek the rankings were determined using quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the American Hospital Association (AHA) Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient experience surveys and a voluntary PROMs (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures) implementation survey.

UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital, UnityPoint Health - Iowa Methodist Medical Center and UnityPoint Health - Meriter were also named to this year's list which highlights 700 leading hospitals. The awards list was announced Oct. 23 and can be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
