UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids Announces Leadership Changes

UnityPoint Health has appointed Michelle Niermann, UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids President and CEO, as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its East Division. In this elevated enterprise role, Niermann will oversee operations at UnityPoint Health hospitals in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Dubuque, Quad Cities and Madison, WI. As part of this transition, Casey Greene has been named the new Market President for UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids, effective August 28, 2023.

Greene most recently served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids, which includes St. Luke’s Hospital and its associated entities. He joined the organization in 2019 and brings more than 20 years of expertise in operational leadership, human resources, and finance, as well as experience from several senior health care management positions within the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor. Greene received his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and a master’s in business administration from the University of Iowa. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and serves on numerous non-profit boards and committees in Eastern Iowa.
