Why did you become a physician/provider?
I had an uncle who had several chronic health issues. I realized most people didn’t know him the way my family knew him. Often people would focus on how he appeared different and his limitations, and he was so much more than that. I wanted to take that experience and become a provider who considers their patients holistically.

As a provider, what is your medical philosophy?
The focus should be on the patient. While it’s important to deliver evidence-based medicine, I think it’s also important to consider the individual patient and their unique needs.

Why did you choose your specialty?
I've always had an interest in heart disease due to family history. During rotations, I realized that I liked being able to help tangibly fix the issue during surgery. I also enjoyed helping patients navigate through their operative care and recovery.

What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?
Empathetic, supportive and communicative

Being a healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day?
I love seeing patients improve and gain back quality of life.

What is the most important thing patients should know about you and your practice?
They are part of their healthcare team. I want to make sure they understand what's going on and remain a part of the discussion about next steps.
