Biography

I enjoy working with patients through reproductive care, pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I am a listener first, then motivated by my desire to find-a-way to provide respect and honorable care for individuals. After years of dedicated experience in labor and delivery and reproductive healthcare settings I am excited to be applying my skills, knowledge, and deep commitment to patient partnership and trust.

Why did you become a provider?
I desired to become a Certified Nurse Midwife to continue to foster strong relationships with patients outside of labor and delivery. Throughout training, I learned the passion I have towards supporting patients through well-person, reproductive and gynecologic care.

Why did you decide to join UPH?
I'm excited to join UnityPoint Health as it champions Certified Nurse Midwives. I'm joining a supportive and collaborative OB-GYN team that values physiological process of pregnancy and childbirth.

Describe your average patient.
I provide holistic, patient-centered care to individuals from adolescence through post-menopause. My expertise includes guiding patients through pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, family planning and general gynecological needs, with a focus on preconception counseling and menopause management. I primarily manage low-risk pregnancies, consulting with OB-GYNs for high-risk cases.

What would your patients say about you?
Patients recognize the individual support I'm able to provide. I provide care by first being a listener, supporting my patients' goals, no matter how small, and collaborating closely with them, their families and support systems to achieve positive health outcomes.

Most important thing to know about you:
I'm very excited to join the Cedar Valley community and build personal and community partnerships.

Ideal provider/patient relationship:
I'm passionate about integrating evidence-based practice with the unique values, cultures and beliefs of each patient. I believe health care should be a collaborative journey where patients feel empowered to engage in their care decisions.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Family time is important to me, and we enjoy exploring new adventures or activities in our community. I enjoy being active and spending time outside, including water activities like swimming, floating a river or a day at the beach.

Tell us about your family.
I have a supportive family that includes my husband, young son and two golden retrievers.
