Biography

Why did you become a provider: I decided to become a provider after serving 20 years in the US Army. I felt that becoming a provider would give me a continued sense of purpose and allow me to continue serving the public.

Why did you decide to join UPH? I joined UnityPoint Health because of the providers and staff I met during the interview process. Every member of the UnityPoint Health team I interacted with seemed compassionate and dedicated to patient care. It provided a sense of teamwork I had not felt in other areas, and that made me want to become part of the organization.

Describe your typical patient: The typical patient I see can range from six months to 80 years old and could have anything from a sore throat to a broken arm. People who seek my care are those with an acute illness or injury who need treatment, but their health concern may not be severe enough to warrant a trip to the emergency room.

What would your patients say about you? I believe ptients would say I take time to listen to them fully and give them the attention they need and deserve.

What is the most important thing to know about you? The most important thing to know is that I treat all patients the same and will do everything I can to provide the best possible outcome.

How would you describe the ideal provider/patient relationship: The ideal provider/patient relationship is a trusting one where the patient feels comfortable enough to be upfront and honest about everything that is going on. As providers, we can help build this relationship by treating every patient with respect and ensuring all of the their questions and concerns are addressed.

What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy spending my free time with my family by taking walks or biking local trails. I often enjoy playing a round of disc golf with my son as well.

Describe your family: My wonderful wife, Andrea, and I have been married since 2004. We have two children - a son, Maddox, and a daughter, Hadley. We also have a golden doodle named Murphy.
