Biography
Why did you become a provider? I wanted to play a role in taking care of heart patients while part of a high functioning healthcare team.
Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health? The electrophysiology team is a group of wonderful providers who care about the team of people that they work with. They provide excellent care to our community and take care of a wide range of conditions.
Who would typically seek your care? My typical patient is someone coming for education before a procedure, for follow-up care after a procedure or for routine follow-up and management of arrhythmias.
What would your patients say about you as a provider? Patients tell me I explain complicated medical problems in a way that is easy for them to understand.
What is the most important thing for people to know about you and your practice? My purpose is to help patients feel confident in the care they are receiving and to include them in the decision-making process.
How you would you describe the ideal provider/patient relationship? It should be the provider’s top priority to ensure their patients feel completely comfortable expressing their questions, concerns and goals.
What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy exploring trails and nature in our community; cooking; and spending quality time with my family and friends.
Describe your family? I have a wonderful husband, Chris, who works in special education. I also have a curious and adventurous son, Cooper, and an energetic family dog, Beans.
