Biography

Professional Statement:
I've always had a passion for working with children, as well as a passion for educating, so pediatric health care seemed like the perfect way to combine two of my passions! I enjoy getting to know patients and their families to work to provide them with holistic care that's personalized to each individual patient and their needs.

Why did you become a provider:
I became a provider in pediatrics because it allows me to provide education to teach children and their families healthy habits that last across the lifespan. The opportunity to make a difference in a patient's life early on can lead to an overall healthier and happier population.

Why did you decide to join UnityPoint Health?
UnityPoint Health places an emphasis on the patient coming first, which is something that really resonates with me. The available network within UnityPoint Health offers an opportunity to work with other providers to ensure continuity of care for patients, which I believe is incredibly important.

Medical Specialties or Special Interests:
Allergy medicine – I worked in a pediatric allergy clinic prior to this and have specialized knowledge in this area. We've seen both food and environmental allergies on the rise in recent years, so having expertise in this area can be of benefit to many patients.

What would your patients say about you?
Patients would say I am trustworthy and that they feel comfortable in my presence.

Ideal provider/patient relationship:
The ideal provider/patient relationship is one in which there is trust on both sides. The patient should feel comfortable with their provider and have confidence their provider wants what's best for them.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy doing anything active in the outdoors. I love to hike, camp, swim, go for walks and just enjoy nature.

Notable ties to the region:
I grew up in Central Iowa near Des Moines and have family scattered across the state in different areas. I love Iowa sunsets, Iowa State athletics and the all of the kind people who live here!
