Melissa Watson, DNP

Biography

My goal is to help patients navigate the changing world of health care, as well as their increasingly complex healthcare needs. I want to help them manage their acute illness in the hospital setting, but I also want to give them the tools they need to be able to continue managing their chronic disease in the outpatient setting. I'm also passionate about ensuring that, as a provider, I'm transparent and make each patient feel respected, heard and involved in their healthcare decision-making and planning.

I have an interest in quality improvement and research. It's important to keep up to date on the latest evidence so we can provide the best care for our patients.

I'm also passionate about socioeconomic factors that impact access to health care and compliance with disease management. A "healthcare" in all policies approach in legislation as nearly all policies passed have direct or indirect impact on our health as a society.
