Biography

Why did you become a physician/provider?
My mother was a nurse practitioner and, from a young age, I admired her medical knowledge and impact on our family, friends and community.

As a provider, what is your medical philosophy?
I believe in treating the whole person, not merely the disease. Paramount to one's physical health is one's mental, emotional and spiritual health. And, lastly, in a nutshell, what we eat and how we choose to move our bodies profoundly affect our well-being.

Why did you choose your specialty?
While in middle school, my dad had emergency open-heart surgery. I remember being very scared that he wouldn't make it and confused by how this could happen to him. Since this episode, I have gravitated toward cardiology and the personal study of disease prevention.

What qualities best describe the care you provide your patients?
Empathetic, attentive, honest, collaborative and progressive.

What are your personal interests?
I like spending time with family, church, gardening and outdoor activities such as hiking and camping.
