Biography
Professional Statement
I have a passion for providing patients with high-quality comprehensive health care. I enjoy focusing on the "big picture" of my patient's healthcare story, determining their needs and carefully working through each one together.
Why did you become a provider?
I became a nurse practitioner because I have an interest in providing patients with the best quality care and staying up to date on current practice recommendations.
Why did you decide to join UPH?
I worked for UnityPoint Health for six years prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. I decided to continue to work for UnityPoint Health as a provider because of the supportive and caring atmosphere.
Describe your average patient.
In family medicine, I have the ability to provide care to a wide range of ages. Typically, I see patients for preventative care, including annual physicals and managing chronic illnesses. I'm also able to provide care for a variety of acute illnesses, as well.
What would your patients say about you?
As a provider, I strive to be a good listener and truly understand the needs for each of my patients.
Ideal provider/patient relationship:
A provider who is willing to sit down with the patient and talk through any concerns with a judgement-free attitude.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy cooking and baking, especially trying new recipes. I also enjoy exercising and reading. My family and I enjoy going for walks together most days of the week.
Tell us about your family.
My husband's name is Alex. We have a young son named Miles and a dog, a "whoodle", named Luna.
