Biography
Why did you become a provider? When I was 16, my Mother died from Cancer. I was very fortunate to receive psychotherapy that enabled me to cope with this devastating loss. Later, when I was living in Chicago and going to college, I took classes at the University of Chicago from Dr. Bruno Bettelheim. He later invited me to work at his world renowned residential care facility for severely disturbed children and adolescents. This solidified my belief that mental health was the career I wanted for myself.
What qualities best describe the care you provide to your patients? I genuinely want to provide a safe environment for my patients to feel comfortable sharing their feelings and concerns. I realize that it takes time to develop trust, and I am patient and listen carefully.
Being a mental healthcare provider, what drives/motivates you each day? I am committed to doing the best I can to help each of my patients. I want them to be able to achieve their goals, and I am honored to be part of their journey of self discovery and healing.
What is the most important message you would like to share with your patients? I view psychotherapy as a relationship and collaborative process. I genuinely respect the trust that my patients put in my care and I am committed to help them in any way that I can.
