To provide funding to UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge to enhance patient care and services. Trinity Foundation is a nonprofit organization who supports UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge's mission "to improve the health of the people and communities we serve."Trinity Foundation partners with donors like you to ensure access to high-quality health care for patients and families who rely on the compassion and expertise at UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge a not-for-profit healthcare organization. Your generosity supports a standard of excellence in care, innovation and comfort that would not be possible without you.
Trinity Foundation's rich history dates back to 1983 for the sole purpose of supporting UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge through philanthropic funding. Today, the dedicated team at Trinity Foundation continues this legacy of impactful philanthropy, ensuring that every gift creates a lasting impact where it's needed most.Each year Trinity Foundation transfers approximately $1.5 million to UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge. This long tradition of providing needed transportation, medications, medical equipment, and health care services is something you can be proud of.
All funds raised through Trinity Foundation support various programs at UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge. Direct grants are not made to external organizations. Trinity Foundation operates as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization and serves as the charitable arm of UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge.
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:
- To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
- To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
- To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
- To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.

Alyssa Stanek
Executive Director
I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work alongside my team, board members and donors for the greater good of the people and the communities we serve. It’s truly a blessing to witness how donors, like you, transform the care our team provides and to see the lasting impact your generosity has on patients and families.
I joined UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge in February 2014. I originally started in the Marketing department, and I have always enjoyed advocating and promoting our services, programs and team members. Now, I get the unique privilege of listening, learning and connecting your passions with our services to create a meaningful philanthropy-powered impact.
On a personal note, I’m married to my husband, Anton. We have three children, Jacklynn, Lauren and Riley. We live and farm in the Fort Dodge area. In our free time, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active in our church, traveling and cheering on the Hawkeyes.
Mikaela Heikens
Foundation Operations Coordinator
I joined Trinity Foundation in December of 2021 after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Nonprofit Administration. I knew this was the direction I wanted my life to take because my greatest passion is helping others. I was raised that you should always look for a way to help, and I know that I can care for others by fulfilling my duties with the Foundation.
I enjoy coming to work each day and knowing that it will never be the same thing twice. I get to collaborate with board members, UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge team members, leaders and community members who all share the same goal: provide top-notch healthcare in our rural community.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, spending time with family and friends, and traveling abroad.

We have all heard the phrase “the joy of giving.” It turns out our brain is wired for generosity. Research shows that when we even contemplate giving, the pleasure centers of our brains light up. It is my pleasure to connect people to causes because I know it creates joy. I am surrounded by interesting people intent on making an impact. You inspire me and I love how clearly, I can see the importance of my work.
I joined Trinity Foundation in 2001. I collaborate with a talented team and dedicated board members who share my passion for giving and supporting local healthcare. It is truly a privilege to be on the front line of creating good.
On a personal note, my husband, Brian, and I live in Fort Dodge. Our daughter Holly, and her husband, Jeff, have three children. Our son, Ben, and his wife Kate, have two children. Brian and I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, hiking, and exploring National parks.

I became part of the amazing team at UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge in November 2023. I brought a wealth of experience in grant writing and administration, research, and policy development. In my role focused on professional fundraising in the healthcare sector, my main goal is to highlight the importance of compassion and ensure that exceptional healthcare is accessible to everyone, no matter their financial situation.
The value of life cannot be overstated, and it's vital to protect and nurture it. Unfortunately, various challenges can jeopardize the well-being of humanity. In such moments, the generosity of donors becomes crucial. With the unwavering support of our kind-hearted constituents, Trinity Foundation can help provide healthcare to those in need within our communities. I am deeply grateful to the donors who make this possible and for their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Outside of work, I have the honor of being married to my husband, Neil. Together, we are blessed with four amazing kids and their growing families. During our free time, we love gardening, hiking, and reading.
