A lasting impact on local health care
The Allen Legacy Program provides financial assistance to students enrolled in the Allen College Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program and guaranteed employment at Allen Hospital. Upon graduation, successful completion of licensure exams and a two-year commitment to work at Allen Hospital, nursing students will receive up to full tuition reimbursement for the final two semesters of his or her Allen College education.
Nurse recruiting and retention remains critical to ensuring access to high quality health care for future generations. Through generous donations, the Allen Legacy Program aims to groom highly skilled health care workers to provide exceptional care for patients in local communities.
The endowment was initially funded in part by a donation from the estate of Keith and Dorothea Baskins. The Baskins' passion for nursing education and local health care continues to provide a lasting impact.
