Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship - Blank Children's Hospital
Preceptorship Overview
Blank Children's Hospital offers opportunities for students enrolled in Nurse Practitioner programs to complete clinical rotation hours within the pediatric care setting. A crucial part of any nurse practitioner's success as a provider is a meaningful clinical experience.
We know that to be a good clinician it is essential to have an active partnership between the preceptor, the academic program and student. During your clinical experience, you will gradually learn how to apply your academic knowledge into practice to make evidence-based decisions for your patients.
We offer inpatient and outpatient clinical experience for nurse practitioners. Our inpatient clinical options are Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Hematology & Oncology, Hospitalist/Newborn nursery, Emergency room, OB Emergency Department (with the midwife team). Our outpatient experiences are General Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Foster Care Clinic, STAR Center (child abuse evaluation and treatment), Psychiatry, Midwife Services, Palliative Care, Pulmonology, Perinatology, Pediatric Orthopaedics, and the Developmental Center.
